A word of explanation

Certified Addictions Counselors are required to have ongoing postgraduate training in psychotherapy, behavior modification and other methods to help with substance abuse problems. In addition to their training, they are required to have 3000 hours of experience under clinical supervision prior to being certified to provide substance abuse treatment to individuals and families, and to supervise their participation in group and individual outpatient programs dedicated to the treatment of addiction, codependency and related difficulties. Although Vista does not provide primary substance abuse treatment, its addictions counselors are skilled in working with family members of the addicted individual.
